Strap Hinges on Barn Door, Deering, NH. These four hinges are in the traditional shape of the "Ball and Spear". They're 3/8th of an inch thick, three inches wide and forty three inches long. The eyes of the hinges are forged over the anvil, around a forming pin, which is a piece of seven-eighths round stock by six inches long.
The Ball and Spear shape is started in a tool made by Mike Pick called a guillotine swage. Then finished over the edge of the anvil. Mike Pick is Vinny Anfuso's Blacksmithing and Martial Arts teacher from Woodland Park Colorado. www.ukfkenpo.com
